A Comparison Between The DJI M350 RTK and M300 RTK

In the world of commercial drone technology, DJI is a well-respected name, known for its cutting-edge drone technology. Today, we will delve into a head-to-head comparison between two of DJI's Matrice flagship models: the M350 and the M300. While both drones offer impressive capabilities, they differ in various aspects, including flight performance, weatherproofing, satellite reception, and transmission. Let's explore these features to find out their differences and similarities.

Flight Performance:

The M350 and M300 drones share the same impressive maximum flight time of 55 minutes, ensuring ample airtime for capturing data. Both models exhibit remarkable stability and agility, making them suitable for a wide range of applications including mapping, surveying, public safety, law enforcement and inspection of infrastructure and energy assets. However, the M350 takes the lead in flight performance due to its enhanced transmission system and advanced arm lock indicator, providing greater control and confidence during flights.

Weatherproof Capability:

When it comes to withstanding challenging weather conditions, the M350 surpasses the M300. With an impressive IP55 protection rating, the M350 is more resistant to dust and water ingress, ensuring its performance remains uncompromised even in adverse environments. On the other hand, the M300 holds an IP45 rating, which makes it slightly less weatherproof.

Satellite Signal Reception:

For reliable satellite signal reception, both drones offer a robust selection of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo. However, the M350 goes the extra mile by incorporating additional frequency bands, providing a more comprehensive and accurate positioning system. It supports GPS: 11/L2/15, GLONASS: L1/L2, BeiDou: B1/B2/B3, and Galileo: E1/E5. Meanwhile, the M300 supports GPS: L1/L2, GLONASS: L1/L2, BeiDou: B1/B2, and Galileo: E1/E5.

Dimensions and Weight:

In terms of dimensions, both the M350 and M300 have identical measurements when unfolded, standing at 810*670*430mm. When folded, they maintain the same compactness at 430*420*430mm. The drones also share an identical diagonal wheelbase of 895mm. However, there is a slight variation in weight, with the M350 weighing 3.77 kg and the M300 weighing 3.6 kg.

Payload and FPV Camera:

When it comes to payload capacity, the M350 and M300 both excel, with maximum payloads of 9.15 kg and 9 kg, respectively. This allows for the integration of various professional-grade cameras and equipment. In terms of FPV (First Person View) camera specifications, the M350 offers a higher resolution at 1080p/30fps with a wide field of view (FOV) of 145°, including night vision capabilities while the M300 provides a resolution of 960p/30fps with the same FOV.

Operating Temperature:

Both drones exhibit robust operating temperature ranges, ensuring they can withstand a wide range of environmental conditions. The M350 and M300 have an operating temperature range of -20 to 50°C, enabling reliable performance in extreme climates.

Transmission System and Range:

The M350 outperforms the M300 in terms of transmission capabilities. It features a 2T4R, 03 Enterprise transmission system, enabling a maximum transmitting distance of 20 km. Conversely, the M300 is equipped with a 1T2R, 02 Enterprise transmission system, limiting its maximum transmitting distance to 15 km. Therefore, if extended range transmission is a priority, the M350 is the better choice.

Both the M350 and M300 drones offer exceptional performance and reliability. However, the M350 edges ahead in key areas such as weatherproofing, transmission range, and advanced flight indicators.
