DESCRIPTION

The Scout Flammable Gas Sensor for the Scout 137 Drone is a specialized drone-mounted device that detects and alerts operators to flammable gases in the environment, forming an essential part of the ScoutDI confined-space inspection ecosystem. Key features include real-time warnings for enhanced safety, a lifespan of over 15 years with low ownership costs, no need for field calibrations due to factory calibration and built-in self-testing, additional ambient temperature readings, and compliance with IEC 60079-29-1:2016, with ongoing certification for EN50271.

Technical Specifications

Detection Capabilities: Detects most flammable gases, excluding Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S).
Automatic Activation: The Gas Sensor activates automatically when the drone powers on.
Continuous Monitoring: Displays current gas concentrations in % LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) on the Scout App status panel.
Alarm System: On-screen alarms trigger upon detection of combustible gases. A secondary alarm activates if gas concentrations reach the upper threshold.
Data Logging: All gas concentrations are recorded alongside flight data for analysis.

Guaranteed Accuracies

The sensor ensures accurate detection for methane and hydrogen across a wide range of environmental conditions. Other gases typically meet published tolerances, primarily under standard conditions (20˚C, 50% Relative Humidity). The sensor’s accuracy is validated against ISO 10156 standards.

The Gas Sensor integrates with the Scout 137 Drone System, enhancing operational safety through:

Continuous Display: Gas concentrations are displayed in real-time within the Scout App.
Automatic Warnings: Alerts are issued immediately upon detecting flammable gases.
Connection Monitoring: If the Gas Sensor loses connection, an alert is provided, and the system attempts to reconnect automatically.
